"If you leave the safety of being indoors, you may be putting your life at risk," the National Weather Service said.

in case you didn't know, there's a blizzard in new york (actually, the entire northeast).
and in case you didn't know, i'm not there freezing my ass off, but the rest of my family is, so i'm a bit concerned for them. when last i was home, the pipes for hot water in the kitchen had frozen, and last i heard from my mom, nothing had changed, save the new two feet of snow, and everyone's gloomy attitudes.
they should play more tetris or something...

last night was also host of the first of two sold out Colin Meloy (of the Decemberists) shows at Fez. sadly, all of the buzz and hipster excitement of the gig was not enough to clear the roads and warm the city enough for many ticketholders to make it to the show.
according to Brooklyn Vegan, though, "anyone who was brave enough to show up to the sold out show without a ticket, got in without a problem." so good for them.
i've already (illegally) downloaded his tour-only ep of him covering Morrissey b-sides. its pretty.

word is that Fez is going to be closing soon, but not before Stella get in two more shows. rumor also says that Fez will be recreated into something new and exciting, so not to fret.
